MARIE-HÉLÉNE VÉRAN

Marie-Helene Veran was born in 1957 in the South of France. She grew up in an art-loving family which filled the house with many works of art. Marie-Helene and her older sister greatly enjoyed painting, and over time they became highly talented.

At the age of 19, Marie-Helene prepared to enter the Arts Decoratifs school, and took the entrance examination; her grades were very good. However, the director of the school felt that her painting style was already quite well established and developed, and he suggested she continue to paint on her own. She then began to paint in oils, and her sensitive work reflects her love of painting and her skill and patience.

Her first exhibit was in the South of France, and met with great success. In 1979, she exhibited for the first time at the Naifs and Primitifs gallery in Paris, and went on to hold exhibitions in Bordeaux, Chicago, Geneva, Le Touquet and St. Jean de Luz. Marie-Helene is married with two daughters, and spends as much time as possible creating new paintings.
