CELLIA
SAUBRY
Cellia Saubry was born in
1938 in Rouen, France. While very young she began drawing with her uncle, a professional
artist. As a young woman, she moved to Paris and was married; she began to paint seriously
but for many years did not display her work. Finally, in 1972 she decided to exhibit her
paintings, and they went on display at Galerie Antoinette. From 1980 to 1997 her work was
on exhibit at Gallery Naifs et Primitifs in Paris, and at Gallery Naifs et Primitifs in
New York City until 1986. Her work has been presented at many international art fairs and
exhibits, pariticulary in Basel.
