L'AUXERROIS

L'Auxerrois was born in Coulommiers near Paris in 1930. When she was fifteen years old, she became seriously ill and she began to draw and paint to entertain herself. After recovering, she became a student at the "l'Atelier Jarrot" school and began to learn sculpture and drawing.

She married, had two children, and began painting in oils. At the same time, she also began creating porcelains, fabric designs and gift items for the renowned French company Fauchon. Her work was exhibited in 1981 at the Naifs and Primitifs gallery in Paris, and she has participated in many group shows and one-woman shows of her work.

Her favorite subjects are views of her village, cafes and French bistros, shops, street markets and the Provence landscape.
